Biography

Educational Background:

PhD Biological Sciences: Aberystwyth University, UK (2022–Present)

M.Tech Applied Parasitology: Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria (2018–2021)

B.Tech Biology: FUTA, Nigeria (2011–2016)

Career Journey:

My research explores the fascinating world of parasitic worm proteomics and protein biochemistry. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as high-resolution proteomics and mass spectrometry, I delve into understanding protein functions and their critical roles in parasitology.

A significant focus of my work is on parasite-host interactions, where I study how proteins mediate key processes like invasion, establishment, and colonization within hosts. Currently, I am investigating cytosolic proteins and extracellular vesicles released by parasitic helminths, with a particular interest in economically significant parasites such as Fasciola hepatica (liver fluke).

My overarching aim is to advance our understanding of protein interactions and their roles in pathogenesis and drug resistance. This knowledge will contribute to the development of groundbreaking diagnostics, vaccines, and therapeutics for parasitic diseases.
